Iberville Museum’s Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at the museum. Our keynote speaker this year is Cliff “Chachie” LeGrange, industrial engineer and author of Bayou Pigeon, Louisiana: Spirit of the Atchafalaya.

About LeGrange:

Chachie - 1Known as “Chachie of the Atchafayala,” LeGrange is considered the go-to historian of the Atchafalaya Basin. He received a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Education from Louisiana State University (LSU) where he also completed the LSU Quality Management Program. He went on to work for Dow Chemical Company for 35 years of before retiring from Dow Chemical Company in 2008. Currently, he helps his son, Benjamin, by working part-time at Atchafalaya Crawfish Processing in Henderson, LA. However, LeGrange has been hunting and fishing in the Central Atchafalaya Basin since 1963 and has been involved with the Atchafalaya Basin Landowners and the LW&F in improving the quality of hunting and fishing in the basin since the 1970s. In 2011, he published his first book Bayou Pigeon, Louisiana: Spirit of the Atchafalaya, which aims to share and preserve the rich history of the Atchafalaya Basin, starting in 1806 to the 1970s.
